  2. Hiding Out With Bloggers

    May 27, 2005 by barffie

Last night, Jeffwee and me went to Hideout!
We met many many famoose bloggers!
mr brown (who’s gonna be a father of 3 soon!), Mr Miyagi (my very first blogger friend), FinickyFeline, TriplePeriod, Rouk, Jordan, One Little Twit, Mail Order Bride (joosey pout!), SillyCelly (chioz de neh!), Sandralicious (drool drool), Joel (Maxwell buddy), Nana (Tongue-piercing-chew-carrot-cake girl), Jamesseng, MakanGuru, Mandrake, MaoTai, Little Miss Drinkalot!

So many people. So many flashes (everyone was taking photos…)
So much drinks (Mao Tai and his 12 year old whiskey – power de neh!)…
I tried the Belinda special, and by golly, it’s nicceeee…
Too bad it stung Nana’s freshly pierced tongue a little… But it’s great :D
    The kind of drink I like… :D ~~~~

Thing is, I am extremely sleepy now. And I have a script to squeeze out.
    Yawn yawn yawn!
Alcohol doesn’t seem to sit too well in me nowadays, I get drunk high too very quickly, and I get those red marks all over my body (which usually comes after heavy drinking, not just 2 martinis??!!!), and I sported a headache when I finally slumped on the bed. Zzz Zzz Zzz.

But I am fine, and I actually got to work earlier than I thought. :D

After thoughts on the blogger meetup, especially with such a huge turn out,
    it’s actually quite incredible.
I am very used to meeting people from the internet, from the IRC days I had (remember my channel #whine+die? I bearly log on twice a month perhaps…),
had plenty of outings with people my age… But none had been as fun as this. People are less clique-ish, and more willing to open up and talk, and topics are way much more interesting.

It’s an even bigger and more diverse mix of people hanging out at this place playing really eclectic music, than those days when I hang out with people of similar backgrounds or something (usually at a certain retro club), but I enjoyed myself even more last night. I guess with blogging, it’s easier to strike up a topic with someone because you’ve read something about their personal lives. It’s frankly, very much easier to carry on a topic because you can further expand on the details and what nots, with someone who has a brief knowledge of certain things. (Am I rambling?)

Like my conversation with mr brown, I asked him about his kids, and if the wife is still being quarantined from them… He expanded on the topic and explaining that hand-foot-mouth disease (they should have a better name for this) is very much contagious even if the scars are healing. And that there are 40 strains of this virus and only one is deadly. Fortunately for all the kiddies out there, the deadly one has not been appearing for a long time since the last hoohaa. And fortunately for him, the kiddies are getting better. :D A family man with his sense of humor still intact even when juggling a pregnant wife, two wailing kids and his job. Respect!

You know, you can learn alot about life and gain all sorts of knowledge just by talking to people you knew briefly… I could never strike up a conversation with a complete stranger unless I know something about you already. Well, almost never. But that was then. Now I am a little more cautious about people, yet it seems that the people I meet are almost always very pleasant.

Dya dig wad I’m sayin’? Doh!

As for Mr Miyagi, have known him for the longest time. Thanks to the comments he left to me aeons ago, we now have a not bad relationship lah :P Designing his company logo is quite a good experience for me, and I thank him for the opportunity!
He was the one who told me that there are people who’ve actually kayaked all the way to Tioman (I am still very very amazed by that), and who told me about his Sydney days and how he missed that, the stories behind Fly Entertainment… And I didn’t think guys would get emotional over army as well. But hey!
It’s another time and place now… Try to enjoy!
But everytime I meet him in recent months, he looks tired, drained, and really whopped. Take care dude, you are stronger than you think, but you are not superman.
Run and chao keng if you can ya! -_- He is a man with alot of solid life experiences, and he;s still a very good man. Respect also! And psst psst, we’ve overheard 2 girls gushing about you in the form of “SO CUTE!!! SO CUTE!!! *giggle giggle*” :D Wanna know who they are? Bwahahaa!

Keke. Blogging has brought me alot of things… relief, joy, friends and a hubby…
So I will continue blogging and I AM GONNA SHIFT TO LIQUIDBLADE! WHOOPEE!

    Check back for details. Moahaha.
